As artist-in-residence, I was invited to develop a project in response to the Museum’s vast collection of tiles and ceramics. Focusing on the geometric design of this 19th century tile (below left), I altered it by using leaves (found on site) as stencils, painting over 900 canvas ‘tiles’ for the installation.

Tree branches are suspended from loops of plastic bags; each loop is a collage of several bags. The entire structure 'floats', attached to the side walls only at the top row.
